Fresno REALTORS Attend Fresno Pacific University Concert

Fresno and Clovis REALTORS, Ken and Carol Maul, attended Fresno Pacific University's presentation of Mendelssohn's  Elijah at the Paul Shaghoian Concert Hall which is part of the Clovis School District's Performing Arts Center at the Clovis North Educational Complex in Northeast Fresno.

Under the direction of Roy L. Klassen, D.M.A., who is retiring at the end of this semester, the concert featured the Fresno Pacific University Concert Choir and the San Joaquin Chorale, an auditioned choir that is affiliated with Fresno Pacific.

After a light supper, the second piece performed was Brahms' Requiem accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra.

Soloists for Elijah were Marc McAlexander, Aaron Bryan, Krista Moore, Melinda Ramos and Heidi Webb.   Accompanist was Kevin Memley.

Klassen joined the faculty at Fresno Pacific University in 1977 and has been the conductor of the Concert Choir, as well as the Pacific Chamber Singers.   He also taught voice and conducting.    He will continue to direct the San Joaquin Chorale and will be taking a choir to Australia and New Zealand in June.

Best wishes to Roy Klassen and thanks for his contributions to the music community of Fresno for over 30 years!!
