Fresno REALTORS Attend Fresno Choral Artists Concert
Fresno and Clovis REALTORS, Ken and Carol Maul recently attended the Fresno Choral Artists' spring concert, "Sacred Music in a Sacred Place," at First Congregational Church in Fresno.
Under the direction of Artistic Director, David Hensley, the group sang pieces from Bach, Handel and Mozart, among others. The accompanist for the group is Catherine Walker.
Also appearing were the University High School Chamber Singers, directed by Greg A. Lapp, who is also a member of the Fresno Choral Artists. One of the pieces they sang was "In Flanders Fields" by Paul Aitken. This number was directed by Burke Rea, Student Conductor, who chose the piece and taught it to the group.
They also sang "If There is Light," which was written by Lapp. Jacob Williams was the tenor soloist for this very rousing spiritual, which was very enthusiastically received by the audience.
For two of the pieces, the groups were accompanied by a string quartet and organ. At the end of the concert, the two groups joined together to sing arrangements of familiar hymns.
Congratulations to the Fresno Choral Artists and to the University High School Chamber Singers for their fantastic concert and for the wonderful things they are doing with music in our community.
