Kingsburg's Ramos Torres Winery Hosts Christmas Winemaker's Dinner
Fresno REALTORS, Ken and Carol Maul, attended the Christmas Winemaker's Dinner, hosted by Oscar Ramos of Ramos Torres Winery, at the Hi Life Restaurant in Kingsburg this week.
The 7-course dinner, prepared by Hi Life Restaurant owner and chef, Tim Pashayan, featured Ramos wines, as well as a Riesling from Westbrook Wine Farm.
The exquisite menu consisted of Escargots a Parlesienne paired with Ramos's 2007 Grenache, followed with Coquille Saint Jaques, a salad of mixed greens with orange cranberry vinaigrette and a side of Frog Legs Provencal, paired with the Westbrook Riesling.
A refreshing cranberry sorbet, prepared by Jonathan's Restaurant in Kingsburg, preceded Ox Joints Bourguignonne with Divine Duchess Potatoes paired with 2007 Branches by Ramos. Paired with Ramos's 2007 Zinfandel were Lamb Noisettes, Basmati Christmas Rice (with many fruits and nuts) and Brussel Sprouts Au Gratin.
Finishing off the evening was a chocolate cake by Pho 76 Restaurant and Bakery at First and McKinley in Fresno with home made French Vanilla Ice Cream served with Ramos's 2008 Muscat Canelli.
In a very festive atmosphere with a Christmas tree and a roaring fire in the fireplace, this evening was indeed a gourmet delight with many indicating that it was the best dinner they had ever enjoyed.
The Ramos Wine Tasting Room is at 1665 Simpson in Kingsburg with the Hi Life Restaurant next door.
