Fresno State's Opera Theater Presents Perfect Endings: Opera Finales
Fresno REALTORS, Ken and Carol Maul, enjoyed Fresno State's Opera Theater's Fall Scenes production of Perfect Endings: Opera Finales.
Directed by Dr. Anthony Radford, Assistant Professor of Voice and Director of the Opera Theater at Fresno State's Department of Music, College of Arts and Humanities, this presentation gave students an opportunity to sing a portion of an opera and also to complete an assignment in costumes, properties, programs or publicity.
The program consisted of 5 finales -- from "Manon," "Little Women," "Cosi fan tutte," "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Gondoliers."
Auditions took place last April, and students learned their music on their own over the summer. This semester was spent in rehearsals and staging. The students designed and built the sets and the costumes; numerous professors at Fresno State assisted with various aspects of the production.
Accompanist for this production was Hatem Nadim, Staff Accompanist at California State University in Fresno.
The next production of the Opera Theater will be "L'elisir d'amore" by Gaetano Donizetti on April 16 and 18, 2010. Information on all concerts, recitals and productions of the Music Department can be found on the Concert Calendar.
Ken and Carol Maul would encourage anyone who enjoys operatic music to attend these wonderful events that showcase the great talent at Fresno State.
