Dramatic Lighting on Water Tower in Eaton Plaza in Downtown Fresno

Fresno Realtors, Ken and Carol Maul, attended the lighting of the historic Water Tower in Eaton Plaza in Downtown Fresno at Sunset on Thursday evening, November 12, 2009.

A three-year project of the City of Fresno's Department of Parks, After School, Recreation and Community Services Department, under the direction of Randall Cooper, the dramatic lights came on with Mayor Ashley Swearengin leading the count down to turn on the lights.   Council President Cynthia Sterling also spoke at the ceremony held on the steps of the Memorial Auditorium.

Following the brief ceremony, many went across the street and toured the inside of the Water Tower which is now a Visitor's Center.

The Eaton Plaza is named for Edwin M. Eaton who was President of Guarantee Savings and Loan from 1928 to 1956. His grand daughter, Joan Eaton, is one of the principals of  Guarantee Real Estate and Guarantee Home Loans.

Guarantee Good Will Network donated $1,000 to the Water Tower lighting project. Guarantee Real Estate Agents, Guarantee Home Loan Officers, as well as corporate officers and staff donate to the Guarantee Good Will Network, and local non-profit organizations are selected to receive contributions. In just three years of existence, Guarantee Good Will Network has donated nearly $90,000 to local projects that make our community a better place in which to live and work.

Ken and Carol Maul encourage everyone to drive Downtown some evening to see the beautifully illuminated Water Tower at Fresno and O Streets.
